List of Slide Names
Using PSP v7.0.3527 I have named slides in a show. While I can collect the files and save a file list, I do not see any way to obtain a list of slide names.
Can this be done in PSP or, if not, is there a workaround I cna use?
Many thanks,
Dave

Re: List of Slide Names
Hi
I do no think there is a way to do it from Proshow.
But the psh.files can be open with a text editor.
Then it is possible to list the name of the slides and to extract them for exemple with Excel : each line begins with cell[x].name=... where x is the slide number -1

Thanks Chris,
Excel will open the psh files as well so will work through that.
Many thanks.

Vernon Robinson created a word macro that would wander through your .psh file and collect that stuff for you.
Not sure I would want to open it with Excel unless I wanted to write a bunch of VBA underneath to process
the information (which isn't bad if you are familiar with it).

You can't have too many gadgets or too much disk space !!
mikey (PSP6, Photoshop CS6, Vegas Pro 14, Acid 7, BluffTitler, Nikon D300s, D810)
Lots of PIC and Arduino microprocessor stuff too !!

Hi
You do not need VBA : a simple filtrer or advanced filter will do it...
The word does not extract the slide names.
I have not tested the MSI file of your link : perhaps it does it.

Mikey,
Many thanks for the word "macro" - interesting. Unfortunately as Chris says, it does not extract the slide names - and I do not know enough VB to be able to add the option!
Excel does allow you to find all entries witha ".name=" search.
Thanks all for help.

Hello
To get only slides name
With automatic filter (english translation is approximative ) (the column has been titled Titre)
With advanced filter with a formula: (better than autofilter if you have to do it often... or if you want to extract the slides names list out of the psh list)

Looks like a good solution! I had not used Vernon's utility for Word, I was just aware of it (I usually just open a copy of the .psh file in a text editor and snoop for what I'm looking for). Don't forget that "slide 1" is image[0] or whatever they call it (they start counting at 1 for what they show, but the index number starts at 0 - just got bitten with same thing last week installing a virtual Linux machine and counted partition numbers wrong )

Sounds like it might be time to upgrade the original programming. I am surprised by how many have used it over the years. Besides the Slide Name, any other enhancement requests for this?
