Starting All Over Again With PSP.
Hi Everyone:
"Long Time No See"
I have been absent from ProShow Enthusiasts for at least 3 years now.
Also absent from creating any slideshows.
I have seemed to spend my last 3 to 4 years uploading my images (47,000 images) to Flickr/Google Photos/And My Own Personal Website.
***I Need To In 2016 Get Back Into Creating Slideshows***(As Now Retired I Think I Have More Time On My Hands)***
Last time I created any shows using Proshow Producer V5.32 (I Believe)
I have notice that Proshow Producer V7 is now out and in use.
This is where I would like a little advice.
Is it worth upgrading from my V5.32 to V7
Has Lots Changed Since I Last Used PSP, From Then To Latest Version 7.
I Am Getting Myself Prepared For 2016 & Starting Creating More Shows.

V7 is nice ... worked a lot of bugs out ... and the text layers work pretty good. I like it. However, there's no compelling reason to upgrade right now tho ... unless you really need text layers (which are captions that act as regular layers) and want the royalty free music/sounds NOW. You might want to wait until this Spring (or so) and upgrade to v8 when it's released (I'm guessing at to the release time frame).
Yes, V8 ... we can only hope that the changes to THAT release will actually be deserving of the numerical assignment of a major release. If you can wait, the release should also include numerous bug fixes as well...
Just sayin'...

John,
The last released version of Producer 5 was version 5.0.3310
You can check your version by clicking on Help > About ProShow
So, if you have a version that is prior to that, there are even more bugs in it than normal
Maybe it is time to update, after all
Just be prepared that ver. 7 looks different than 5, because of the change in icons and the general face-lift

Re: Starting All Over Again With PSP.
Cheers Dale & Mona: Thanks for your replies.
As I am curious, I may download V7 Trial, just to play around.
As I have not used PSP for couple of years, I do not have my version (V5.320 installed on this PC.
So I need to start somewhere, just to play around & get the feel of PSP again.
Hoping all my previously purchased slide-styles will work with new version.
But after I have a bit play around, I will then make up my mind if I should upgrade now, or await V8 coming out.

As Mona indicated, version 5.32 is not a valid version number - the latest was 5.0.3310 I guess (from Mona's comment). One thing you might do is make sure you have the latest version you are entitled to from when you purchased version 5 - you can go to the Photodex site and log in to your account and it will tell you what the latest version is you are entitled to with your year of free upgrades. Download that if it is newer than what you have and go from there. Go to http://www.photodex.com/help/your_products and you can see what is the latest (you will have to log in).

Hi Mikey:
Followed your instructions to my Photodex Account and this is how it reads:- "Eligible for ProShow Producer 5.0.3297" and that is the one I last downloaded to my PC.

Re: Starting All Over Again With PSP.
Hi Guys - I installed by original ProShow Producer V5 software, checked it out, had a play around with it.
Then installed ProShow Producer V7 software.
As I am a bit rusty, what I will do is produce shows on producer V5, until I get used to it again.
Dale I will then look at it again, in spring to see if V8 comes out.
But at this time I am more than happy to use V5.
Many thanks everyone for your input.
