Mov file from Canon 5DmkII. Importing slowly

I have Intel i7-920 and 12GB ram. But drag the file to "timeline" takes long time about 2 min for 40 sec movie. And in the folderlist can't you see or play the mov file.

So if I have 20-40 movfile and wont it to timeline it will take alot of time.
Can you editing this file in producer? Cut and so?
