ISO files - where are they?!

Postby JohnForrester » Wed Dec 19, 2007 7:01 am

When you select the burn ISO option in 'Create Output' where exactly does it go on the hard drive?
Stupid question probably but can't find it anywhere.

If you've tried "everywhere", do a search for files with .iso as part of their name. That should do it.

JohnF,

I've just done a search for my own ISO files using .iso and that failed too.

Search using the name you gave it (excluding any extension). In the results it is the one with Type described as ISO file.

It works for me. Hope it does for you.

Please let me know progress.

The search should be done like this:

*.iso

It should have asked where to put it. If you're having trouble try it again and this time put is somewhere easy to find like your desktop.

John

I think it is because you are trying to burn ISO's incorrectly. In the Create>DVD Disc select the Disc Burning tab and then at the top drop down menu of DVD Writers select ISO Image. When you now say OK a normal 'Save' window will open asking where to save. This is where the ISO file will be placed.

If done correctly I believe that proshow should ask for a location to burn your ISO to, and also ask you to name it. Just remember what you enter.

Yes...if you ask it to create ISO on the fly, in that selector, it does not create an iso file that is accesable after the burn.

Follow the directions above where PSG asks for a location.

Thanks for everyone's help. I've figured out ISO now, but as PSG seems to be burning my dvd's ok again, maybe I don't need to go down the ISO route just yet!

For what it's worth, my personal preference is to always create the ISO first. That
way, I never have problems with Proshow burning, I can always create an identical
DVD if someone wants a copy (or something happens to mine) and if you install a
new version of Proshow that causes your old show to get built different when you
try to rebuild it (quite a few people have experienced that one), I still have the
original ISO to make a DVD from if I want it.
