Working with HMT files

Postby burntb4 » Sun Nov 18, 2007 10:12 am

I am working on a show for a family member and they have sent me cd's with the pics i need. However, one of the cd's has all the files listed as E:\HIGHMAT\IMAGE. What the heck are HMT files and how to i open them. When I select a pic from the batch it opens as a very tiny thumbnail.?????

A quick search brought the impression that it's a format no longer used or supported, but as I said, it was a quick search. You might be out of luck with those pictures from the little I read, but maybe someone here knows a little more about it.

Never heard of it but here's some info:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/831240

HighMAT is a way for media formats like JPG, MP3, WMA, WMV and MPEG-4 to be organized and published on a CD. DVD support is planned. As of June 2007: Microsoft has discontinued development on the HighMAT technology. Therefore, the HighMAT extension to the Microsoft Windows XP CD Writing Wizard is no longer offered by using Windows Update.
