Creating small CIRCLE images
I want to create a series of small round jpeg's- such as the sample here to be put in a file so that eventually I can drag as many as I wish onto an image already in my show.

I can do it in MS Digital Image Suite but only by completing the "slide" with the pics embedded , thus creating a single image with multiple pics .I want to just create the individual small rounded pics and insert them into the show as I see fit.
Anybody??
Cheers

Re: Creating small CIRCLE images
You can't make a circular JPEG because it can have no transparency and thus is always rectangular. What you need are PNG images where a circular image can be surrounded by transparency.

Thanks Barbara. Can that be done in PSG. I thought there would be a way of just cropping them to a circle instead of plain old square etc.
Re: Creating small CIRCLE images
No, you need to do it in an image editor. Gold can use a PNG, but it can't create one.

Hi
What about a square crop w/ a ellipse vignette?

Ron, I think what's wanted is a collection of such files to pop into slides. (Does Gold have vignettes?)

Hi
2 things & I'm Probably wrong for assuming both - no image editor & i just figured it has vignettes - was trying to give her a-work-around.

Digital Image Suite may be able to accomplish it.

Re: Creating small CIRCLE images
Ok, you are most of the way there if you can create the effect in Digital Image Suite.
Not having Digital Image Suite, I guess you have selected a circle and then deleted everything outside it. The trick now is to save this as a .png file, not .jpg. A .png file will save the transparency of the deleted portion, a .jpg file will show it white.
(At least this is how it is done in Photoshop )

Re: Creating small CIRCLE images
Thanks Brian. There is a tool with MS Dig Suite that I can use to form the circle. BUT it won't crop after I go thru that motion. When I click edit-cut -the area I selected(circle) turns white.I think I'm missing a step. I'll keep mssing with it. Cheers
Re: Creating small CIRCLE images
I've no familiarity with your software, but I'm wondering if you should be selecting everything BUT the circle so you can delete everything around the circle.

Re: Creating small CIRCLE images
As Barbara states, can you invert the selection and then delete and everything outside the circle turn white. Then try saving this as a .png file and hopefully then outside will be transparent.

Re: Creating small CIRCLE images
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I did get it figured out through MS Digital Suite with help from a cousin of mine. Relatively simple once I got to know the right moves.
